General Manager
Allyn Long and the Company
Allyn Long is the owner and General Manager of
Alaska Logistics, LLC. Mr. Allyn Long established Alaska Logistics in January of
2002 in Seattle, WA. The company started as a small barging service enterprise,
serving mainly the route between Seattle, Seward and Nome. By 2005 Alaska
Logistics developed into a much larger company with over 20 full time employees,
greater destination Western Alaska coverage and diversified services. The company's main field
of business continues to be barging construction materials and equipment to
Western Alaska, however also handle stevedoring heavy machinery and equipment.
Allyn Long has over 20 years of experience in the Alaskan
construction industry and over 10 years in the Alaska Marine Transportation
Industry. His career path lead him through extensive work in Project Freight,
including barging modular structures, complete "Charter" barge loads,
procurement and handling everything required to ship complete construction
projects in remote locations in Alaska and Russia. He has a Bachelor degree in
Construction Management with a minor in Administrative Office Management. Before
starting his own business Mr. Long worked for over 10 years as a Senior
Logistics Manager for Osborne Construction Company.
BRIEF EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Logistics Manager,
Osborne Construction Co., Kirkland, WA; 1994 – March 2003
Responsible for all freight
and logistics coordination for the company’s Washington and Alaska operations.
Worked with the project teams to develop efficient freight plans that expedite
freight to the jobsites at the lowest cost in accordance with the project
schedules. Duties included contract negotiations, equipment acquisition,
developing barge “Load Plan”, coordinating all barge surveys and insurances.
Handled many Project charter barges for Osborne Construction in many of the
Project Locations shown on attached sheet. Heavily involved in the operation
and maintenance of Osborne Equipment Company.

Osborne
Construction Company / The Industrial Company Joint Venture, Julietta Gold Mine,
Magadan, Russia, 1998.
As Senior Logistics Manager,
responsibilities included all budgets, actual costs, custom requirements.
Everything Required to get materials from the Continental U.S. through Russian
customs to the Russian jobsite over 300 miles from the Port of Discharge. Spent
two weeks in Russia interviewing freight forwarders, meeting with custom agents
and interviewing Russian trucking firms.
